Mezzmer is pioneering a new model of eyewear sales through a unique online ordering and shipping service. Customers can choose to have frames sent to their door free of charge to try on, then select their favorites for purchase online, complete with prescription lenses. The entire process is seamless and accomplished from the comfort of the customer's home.
In order for their customers to feel comfortable ordering a traditionally high-touch product online, Mezzmer had to nail the user experience. From browsing frames to try on, to choosing a favorite for purchase, to completing an order with a custom prescription, the process needed to be both simple and elegant for the customer as well as organized and trackable for Mezzmer. Plus, a strong emphasis on SEO was important to help drive traffic to the newly launched service.
Scalable Path integrated two industry standard platforms, Magento and OrderCup, to provide a tailored e-commerce solution that fit Mezzmer's needs. With Magento providing a shopping cart and purchasing experience on the frontend, and OrderCup providing order tracking and fulfillment tools on the backend, Mezzmer could ensure customer orders were being handled accurately and efficiently. A custom integration with a prescription lens crafter was also built to help further automate the process.
To address Mezzmer's SEO needs, the Wordpress engine was integrated into the platform and SEO specialists were engaged to help optimize the site, including pre-populating keyword-rich articles.
And because responsive page loads were critical to the user experience, the Rackspace cloud was chosen for hosting with an Nginx server to help ensure performance.
